Dan Rather Moves to HDNet

HDNet said this week that longtime CBS newsman Dan Rather will debut his new show "Dan Rather Reports" beginning this October. According to the company, the weekly program "will feature hard-edged field reports, interviews and investigative pieces. It will be one-hour in length and will be completely uncensored. It will reflect the signature qualities of its host with a focus on accuracy, fairness and guts."

Dear Dan;

The only way I can see you succeding in your new challenge is by being the driving force behind the program as you do this you can only amke it if you offer someting no one else can. And of course the best way would be to offer stories and progrms other reporters would get fired for if they are with another network. You did not get fired for not doing your job. You were fired for the same reason you were hired doing what no one else is capable of doing.It was a tough story as the administration's deliberated worked very weel in their favor.One of your first assignments may be to finish your story.As I've always been your fan,when the aborition first occured I personally wrote an email to CBS News advising you should only discipine reporters who do not do theirs job instead of the opposite.
Bottom line;I wish you will expose conditions other reporters would get fired for.A fine example would be exposing the reason the mid-east crisis was never solved is simply because we are not honest even handed brokers.How about the uss liberty incident that reporters may discuss during dinner but never during work not too loudly anyhow.

I can't wait to have you and your style of reporting back on tv. After you retired, my husband and I felt as if there was "no real news" anymore. CBS, or any other for that reason, does not realize that the anchor people choose is the one they trust. We had dinner with you every nite for over 10 years. When you left, we couldn't fine anyone we liked or trusted' or who seemed to even "like" what they were doing. You have a passion that is obvious.
We went out and bought a new HDTV only to see you again.
I can't wait, old friend.
