Encore HD First High-Def Network to Close Shop

Starz said Monday that it will shutter the operations of Encore HD due to a lack of bandwidth and carriage agreements with cable companies. The channel was only available on VOOM, although the decision about Encore was unrelated to VOOM’s future status. Starz said that it may restart Encore HD if some of the cable capacity issues are resolved.
